By the Word of Our Testimony, Inc. is a non-profit organization that has been doing mission work in Costa Rica since 2007. For the past 10 years, we have been helping kids in Costa Rica go to school. Many of the children and families are in severe economic crisis, and they can't afford to send their children to school. This type of poverty opens the door for many children to a life of drugs, violence, stealing and prostitution with never a chance to better themselves in life through education.
ALMOST FINISHED!!!
Many of you know that in 2015, we started a new undertaking. We began building a school for the children! It is called "Castillo de Ninos", or "Castle for the Children." This is a place where children can go before and after school for Day Care to remove the burden and stress for single mothers and parents who can't afford this type of care. This before and after school program prevents kids from being out on the street, getting recruited into gangs, or worse. Here the children will continue their education before and after school, which will be run by volunteer teachers. The school center is in Coronado, San Jose, Costa Rica. Your donations have helped us to build the foundation, roof, electricity and walls. We have been building as the funds have come in. This year of 2017 was very successful for this project! In January, we were able to lay the cement floors. In July, a team from Alabama raised money and helped this project in completing the walls and sheetrock! This year, it is our goal to raise enough money this year to be able to completely finish this project by adding doors, windows and paint! We are also raising money to fix the roof for the Pastors in Costa Rica who oversee this project.
One thing we are very passionate about in regards to this ministry is that we pay our own airfare, housing and food in order to do this important, life changing work to meet these families' physical needs. All donations are spent strictly on the supplies for the children. Our mission is also to meet their spiritual needs by allowing the work of God through the Holy Spirit to transform, restore and make families whole by spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Marci Hodge is the Founder and President of By the Word of Our Testimony, Inc. She has been doing ministry work in Costa Rica since 2007, and has been organizing and leading this ministry in helping children go to school for the past 10 years. Marci has felt the calling from God to take this ministry to other nations to meet the needs of children and families and spread the word about Jesus Christ. She lives in Deland, Florida with her husband, Duncan.
Francini Gomez Lizano is from Coronado, San Jose in Costa Rica and recently graduated with her Bachelor's degree in Education. She is currently working as a teacher and has been with By the Word of Our Testimony since it's inception. She is the Children's Pastor at Taller de Maestro Iglesia, and also feels called by God to take this ministry to the nations.
Pastor and Pastora Luis and Kattia Navarrette
Pastor Luis and his wife Pastora Kattia are from Coronado, San Jose, Costa Rica. They have been the Pastors of the church Taller de Maestro Iglesia since 2006. In 2014 they joined with By the Word of Our Testimony, Inc. They have been wonderful mentors and leaders to this ministry, and oversee the work that is done in Costa Rica.
